Camille Stephant's story

Cancer has been in my family for generations. My maternal great-uncle faced colon, prostate, and pancreatic cancer, while my great-aunt and great-grandfather both battled pancreatic cancer. Even further back, my great-great-grandparents were diagnosed with stomach and pancreatic cancer. While I didn’t witness these earlier struggles firsthand, they have shaped my family’s history and inspired my commitment to fighting cancer.
Throughout my life, I’ve also seen how cancer affects those around me. I’ve had teachers diagnosed with cancer and friends whose parents fought the disease, and I’ve seen how it can devastate families, turning their world upside down. These experiences have driven me to take action.
This year, I’ve joined BellRinger, a bike ride and year-round movement dedicated to raising funds for life-saving cancer research at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. As the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington DC, Georgetown Lombardi leads the way in research that translates directly to clinical trials and patient treatments, improving cancer care locally and globally.
My commitment to fundraising for BellRinger is fueled by the desire to honor my family and support those whose lives have been turned upside down by cancer. Every dollar raised goes toward groundbreaking research, helping to turn innovative discoveries into actual, affordable treatments. Donate now to make a difference in the fight against cancer!
