Rider Profile

I hail from a parish in Louisiana adjacent to a region known as "Cancer Alley." My entire maternal line was mostly born and raised in the heart of it - for generations. On that side, I have not been to a funeral for such a relative who did not die of cancer, save one, in decades. Before I left for college, my dear great aunt with whom I was very close passed of lung cancer. Also, the person who most took me in when I moved to the Hilltop worked in the College and perished of cancer some years back. I honor and celebrate the lives of many loved ones lost to cancer. But I'm hopeful that with continued fundraising and research more of our loved ones will perish from natural causes rather than cancer. This is why I ride!

BellRinger is a bike ride and a year-round effort to end cancer. Our movement is motivated by a community of Riders, Virtual Riders, volunteers, and donors working together to further our impact.
