Kim Marsh's story

I am a kidney transplant recipient and in January of 2020, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma of the nasal and paranasal sinuses. I received intensive chemo and radiation treatment during the height of the pandemic, had a positive response and am now fortunate to be cancer free. I am enormously grateful to my physicians, Dr. Timothy DeKlotz, Dr. Ann Gramza and Dr. Jonathan Giurintano along with the nurses and other staff at Georgetown who have guided and supported me through treatment and follow-up. Their early diagnosis, assessment and thorough, thoughtful approach to my care helped secure my treatment plan and successful recovery. Riding in the BellRinger is just one way I can give back to Georgetown, help fund cancer research and offer hope for others fighting cancer now or in the future. Surviving cancer, a kidney transplant - all thanks to Georgetown and being a Hoya… well, I like to tell people that I bleed Blue & Grey. I have nothing but gratitude for Georgetown and the Lombardi Cancer Center and I am excited for my 3rd year in the BellRinger! Hoya Saxa!
