BellRinger is a bike ride and a year-round effort to end cancer. Since my inaugural ride in 2022, each year I have ridden 25 miles in memory of two very special family members. First is my Mother, Patricia Finn Graves, who received treatment at Lombardi. Her cancer diagnosis in 1992 was what inspired me to become a psychologist and cancer researcher. I wanted to conduct research to identify the best ways to support people after their diagnosis. I also ride in honor and memory of my cousin, Sally Ballard Joseph. Sally was a fantastic mom, wife, sister, daughter and so much more to so many people. Her diagnosis of leukemia took her from us far too soon. I am riding and raising money to honor my Mom and Sally by generating funds to support cancer research. Treatment has significantly advanced since my loved ones were diagnosed - but we have much work to do.
I am looking forward to the ride on 10.26.2024 (also our 22nd wedding anniversary; my husband Kevin Bradley is also riding!). Please consider donating to support the research we conduct at Lombardi. This is what I have dedicated my professional life to doing - making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by cancer - both survivors and their caregivers. I invite you to join me by donating to my effort and supporting life-saving cancer research at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Thank you!
