This will be my first time doing the BellRinger 100 mile bike ride. But I have used my bike to fund the research to find the cures for cancer for many years! This time, I will be riding in honor of Sam Sterling (no relation!). I first met Laurie Sterling about 14 years ago, when I started getting her emails inadvertently. We connected in person a few years later, and since then we have become dear friends. And I got to know the rest of the family shortly thereafter! I was devastated to hear of Sam's diagnosis, but thrilled that through the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center, he received excellent care and is doing great now! As a cancer survivor myself (7 years!), and with many family members and friends who have had cancer, finding the cures is one of my greatest priorities! There is no scarier sentence that to hear "you have cancer". Researchers are making great strides to find the cures, so please give generously if you can! BellRinger is a bike ride and a year-round effort to end cancer. Our movement is motivated by a community of Riders, Virtual Riders, volunteers, and donors working together to further our impact. I've made a commitment to fundraising, and I invite you to join me by donating to my effort and supporting life-saving cancer research at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
