I am excited to be part of this year-round movement to end cancer - not only as the Director of Georgetown Lombardi, but as someone who has experienced the impact of cancer in my own family. My mother died of multiple myeloma at the age of only 63. My father died with myelofibrosis just this past February, at the age of 94. I have lost family, dear friends and many patients whose grace and courage continue to inspire me. I have devoted my life's work to the treatment, prevention and cure of cancer as a medical oncologist and researcher focused on harnessing the power of the immune system to recognize, attack and destroy cancers. My devotion to do more to end cancer thus is intensely personal on multiple levels. The BellRinger will raise critically important dollars and awareness that will energize Lombardi's efforts to end cancer once and for all. Please join me!
