Nancy Ripp Clark's story

Dear Friends and Family Members,
Now with the spring thaw, bike riding season starts in earnest and it's time to hop on my bike and start riding with purpose! I'm signed up to ride 50 miles for BellRinger, a bike ride and community movement to end cancer. It's scheduled for October 21, 2023, and I hope that you'll be able to support my ride benefiting the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in its mission.

I am very grateful to those of you who supported my ride last year, and I hope that you'll consider doing the same this year. Or even better, please consider joining me on the ride itself. The distances are 25, 50 and 100 miles, and the BellRinger team is extremely supportive in helping train newer or less experienced riders to acclimate themselves to complete the ride. There is even a virtual component to the ride, if you're not able to join us physically in the DC area this October. For those of you who are Georgetown alumni, we have an alumni team that I am captaining, and I would love to have you join me (and all non-Hoyas welcome too!).

Last year, there were over 800 riders from all ages, backgrounds, biking experiences and professions on the ride. As you might expect, the Lombardi Center was well represented with participants - staff members, nurses, researchers all came out of the hospital, clinics and offices in order to participate in the ride. It was a heartwarming experience to be surrounded by people who were all joined in the common cause of fighting back against cancer.

The Lombardi Center is one of the nation's top cancer centers, and the funds which are raised will support groundbreaking research working toward prevention, earlier diagnosis, care and treatment of cancer. Your donations will support 'bench to bedside' initiatives as research at Georgetown Lombardi translates to clinical trials and treatments for patients, impacting the outcomes of cancer care in DC and beyond.

Thank you for considering supporting my Ride!
Hoya Saxa! Nancy
