In 2007, my friend and co-worker Chris Capistran went to the ER with a burst appendix. But his CT scan turned up something much worse. A very rare cancer had done irreparable damage to his liver. He needed — and got — a life-saving transplant along with some exceptional, coordinated care at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Georgetown Lombardi. Seventeen years later, I’m thankful to say he’s healthy, and we’re still working together to lead our team at Cobalt (Chris is our company’s President).
