Cielo Ondrejcak's story

Last year I did it, and it felt incredible. When I first registered, I was excited and nervous. I am not an athlete, and I was not sure if I would be able to do it, but the motivation was there.
My sister Mechas was in my heart and on my mind, pushing me to do it. It had been less than a year since she lost her battle with cancer, and I wanted to show her that she was still alive in me, motivating me to do big things and being my greatest cheerleader.
I did it, not without difficulties. I got a back injury a month before the ride, one month! I was immobilized for four days and then recovering for almost three weeks. At that point, I didn’t know if I could do it, but guess what? The stamina was there, and I did it, and I felt wonderful.
During the ride I laughed, I sang, and I cried several times. And I want to do it again. I want to feel that I am part of this fight and that one day science will help us all and win the battle against cancer for good.
Please donate to my ride and help fund life-saving cancer research at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Any donation counts, and most importantly, send me good vibes.
With love,
Cielo
